The Top End may hold a certain reputation for its abundance of asbestos but it is also well known for its plentiful supply of something a little more fishy.

Barramundi fishing is a favourite past time for most locals and visitors who can be seen regularly throwing in a line and trying their luck on Darwin rivers.  Bait and lures are used to attract these scrumptious creatures, and we are are pleased to say that we are helping to facilitate those lucky catches.

Having now been established in Darwin since 2013 providing asbestos assessment, hygiene, environmental and laboratory services across the NT, Octief recently joined the fishing community with locally made branded lures.  The lures that come in an assortment of colours including gold, silver, green and orange, are specifically designed to attract the best fish the Top End has to offer.

Octief is the only NATA accredited asbestos laboratory operating in Darwin and provides quality analysis of bulk materials, air and soils in priority turn-around times.  Centrally located in Darwin, samples can be dropped off at the office between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday or left in our secure “after hours” box.
